Stretching along Shanzu Beach, the Mombasa Serena is styled to resemble the legendary 13th century Swahili town of Lamu with winding lanes, carved balconies, fountain courtyards and bustling market squares. It is the only property on Kenya's coastline that is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World and looks out over the waters of the Mombasa National Marine Park.
If you enjoy water sports, you'll have more than enough to keep you busy at Mombasa Serena Hotel. The range of land sports is just as extensive such as floodlit tennis courts, air-conditioned squash courts, a fully equipped gymnasium with instructor, nature trails with the resident naturalist and a nearby golf course are just a few of the facilities available.
Excursions can be arranged at an extra charge to various destinations or any of the nearby Game Reserves and National Parks. You could also just laze by the pool, taking in some sun whilst looking out over the aquamarine waters of the Indian Ocean.
The resort integrates indigenous design and materials with high standards of modern hospitality. The interior decor makes extensive use of local art, crafts and furniture while the peaceful gardens are filled with bougainvillea and shaded by palm trees. Evening entertainment features floorshows, dancing at the discotheque or a live band, as well as themed Swahili evenings.

To quench you thirst you can choose between sipping cardamom-flavoured coffee on the carved balconies of Nyota Terrace or a cocktail at the Piano Bar.
