Stretching along Shanzu Beach, the Mombasa Serena is styled to resemble the legendary 13th century Swahili town of Lamu with winding lanes, carved balconies, fountain courtyards and bustling market squares. The cuisine at The Fountain Restaurant includes internationally themed menus and lavish buffets with a strong Swahili influence. Enjoy tropical fruits, exotic spices and freshly caught seafood by the marble fountains or on wide verandas with ocean views.

Coconut Willy's Pool Bar is a 'swim-up' bar where you can enjoy a cooling drink under the shade of a palm-thatched roof without having to get out of the pool.

The Jahazi Grill is positioned on the shoreline just yards from the breaking waves. The grill specialises in seafood. Vegetarian and non-fish options are also available.

The bustling Sokoni Plaza is designed to resemble the colourful marketplace of a traditional Swahili town. Choose between fresh-baked pizzas and a wide range of international snacks.

To quench you thirst you can choose between sipping cardamom-flavoured coffee on the carved balconies of Nyota Terrace or a cocktail at the Piano Bar.

The resort has a total of 166 guest rooms, which are divided into Village Rooms, Garden Rooms, triple rooms, junior suites and luxury suites.

The Village Rooms contained within the winding lanes and shady courts of the traditional Swahili Village have carved balconies, coral pillars, Zanzibari-carved doors and Lamu-styled furniture.

The spacious Garden Rooms look out over the lush garden towards the sea and feature carved balconies, winding stairways, broad verandas and brass-inlaid furniture.

All of the rooms have an en-suite bathroom with both bath & shower, air-conditioning, a mini-bar, safe, modem hook-up and direct dial phone with voice mail facilities.
