Samburu Sopa Lodge is built overlooking the wildlife-rich banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River within the ancestral lands of the Samburu people, who are close relatives of the Maasai people.

The lodge is set atop raised ground allowing panoramic views of distant Samburu hills to one side and El Ndonyo Keri (Samburu name for Mount Kenya) on the other.

The public areas are airy and spacious with views of the surrounding terrain. The reception is decorated with local artefacts, and rich earth colours typical of the Samburu area have been well-blended.

At Samburu Sopa Lodge there's a swimming pool to cool you down in the warm Samburu weather and loungers which are much-needed after a long dusty safari.

Game viewing activities include guided nature walks and nightly wildlife feeding. Rare wildlife species like the Beisia oryx, gerenuk and Grevy's zebra can be seen here in one of Keny's most famous wildlife areas.

Meals at Samburu Sopa Lodge are served in the dining room which has a beautiful view of the surrounding hills and plains.

Groups can enjoy private lunches in the shaded, outdoor barbecue are, or starlit dinners beside the swimming pool. Children's meals are available on request.

Samburu Sopa Lodge has accommodation for a maximum of 120 guests in cottage style rooms with en suite bathrooms.

The architecture blends in with the area and is based on the style used by the local Samburu people. All of the 30 cottages have 2 tastefully appointed bedrooms, each with 2 queen size beds, a shower and private veranda.

Local material has been used in the construction, furnishings and interior decoration. High ceilings and space ensure that the rooms are airy and comfortable.
