Sweetwaters Tented Camp lies in the heart of one of only 4 private game reserves in Kenya, and offers great views of game across the open plains, to the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya.

Built in the 1970s, the camp's main building was originally the residence of the ranch manager of this private reserve. In fact, the Sweetwaters Game Reserve was once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi.

Today the reserve comprises extensive savannah grasslands and the riverine forests that border the Ewaso Nyiro River.

You can embark on day and night game drives in 4-wheel drive vehicles, as well as walking safaris where you'll be escorted by a knowledgeable ranger, bird walks, horse riding and camel safaris.

From the camp you can view and photograph wildlife in their natural habitat while you sip on a few drinks.

Sweetwaters Tented Camp prides itself on the quality of its cuisine offering a 5-course table d'hôte dining experience every night, and a selection of African, Asian, and international dishes.

The Rhino Restaurant is accommodated amid the quaint charm of the main house, which was once the home of the ranch manager. Here, open windows look out over great views, and the traditional décor features soft sofas, traditional prints and stone-built fireplaces.

The Kashoggi Bar & Lounge with its log fire, soft lights and enveloping ambiance, could be the ideal venue in which to enjoy a light aperitif or a relaxing nightcap.

Sweetwaters Tented camp provides accommodation in 39 tents (13 doubles, 26 twins). Each tent has a thatched roof, an en suite bathroom, and its own veranda with views over the waterhole.

Full room service is provided, and guest room facilities include a power outlet for your hairdryer, shaver and other appliances.
