Taveta

This is a real frontier town on the dusty plains that border Tanzania. Overlooked by Kilimanjaro, the town seldom sees tourists other than those crossing the border, but if you are planning to visit Lake Chala or Lake Jipe, this would be your base. There is a large lodge situated on the edge of Lake Chala which offers accommodation.
