Kilalinda Lodge is set on the sandy banks of the Athi River, at the edge of remote and vast Tsavo East National Park. This is a peaceful place, which takes relaxation seriously - whether that be lying by the beautifully landscaped pool, having a drink in the comfy lounge or indulging in a romantic open air bath.

Along with all this relaxation there is a wide selection of activities to choose from such as day and night game drives in open Land Rovers, bird watching (with over 380 feathered species to spot), river trips and fly camping. On an average game drive you can expect to see elephant, buffalo, hippo and a variety of antelope; leopards are regularly seen, and lion and cheetah occasionally visit the conservancy.

Kilalinda has the feeling of a 'home from home' in the middle of the bush. The main lodge, an open circular building, is comprised of a dining room with a large table that seats 12 guests, and a lounge overlooking both the river and swimming pool. A host of small mammals, including porcupine, mongeese and bush babies, are regularly seen in the lodge grounds.

Kilalinda serves up varied menus prepared using fresh local ingredients. Most of the vegetables are grown on a nearby farm, with delicious home-made pastas and fresh baked bread.

Lunch is either served on the lawns next to the swimming pool or overlooking the river. In the evening you can enjoy wining and dining by candle light at the large, sociable table in the lodge dining room. For a truly memorable meal opt for a sunrise breakfast on a platform high in the branches of a giant baobab tree.

At Kilalinda Lodge you can stay in one of 6 luxury cottages spread out along the river bank. Cottages are individually decorated, but each has a four-poster bed, hand-dyed bedspread and thick woolen carpets. During the heat of the day you can relax on the shady patio, enjoying the view, and the cool breeze that blows up and down the river.

One of the cottages, Twiga Suite, is much larger and has a private Jacuzzi / plunge pool.
