About Me
Most of my childhood was spent on the beach in sunny Amanzimtoti in KwaZulu Natal where my love and passion for the beach and surfing was born. While I was at high school, we moved to the small farming town of Villiersdorp in the Western Cape where I spent five magnificent years among vineyards, fruit trees and spectacular mountain ranges.
I love nothing more than an early morning walk on Blouberg beach front on a beautiful summer's day - a fresh ocean breeze and the most spectacular view of Table Mountain - the perfect start to your day!
Where have I travelled
Growing up I had the privilege of travelling all over South Africa and enjoying the diverse beauty of our country. More recently I spent a couple of weeks visiting New Zealand - green, lush and almost as beautiful as Cape Town!
My favourite travel moment
One of my favourite travel moments has to be a recent trip to Simbambili Lodge in Kruger National Park - my first African safari, seeing the Big 5 and all close up! Nothing is more humbling than watching a cheetah devour its prey less than a metre away from you! There's also little as exhilarating as coming face to face with a great white during a shark-cage diving expedition.
What I love about Africa
The diverse cultures, religions, languages, people - no one visits Africa and leaves untouched.
Some African travel advice
Prepare to have your life changed, especially by the bush - there's just something magical about it.
Where I'd love to go next
I'd love to spoil myself with a beach holiday: top of my list would be Zanzibar, Croatia and Turkey. Places to visit before I die: Times Square in New York; the Great Pyramids of Egypt and Stonehenge in England.
