About Me

I am a Capetonian through and through. I have deep passion for the ocean and spend most of my downtime surfing and kite-surfing. If the waves are flat and the wind is light, I enjoy the quietness of running and the occasional frustrations of golf.

I am a keen photographer and live by the saying, ‘Take only pictures, leave only footprints’. I love the way that photography opens your eyes to the everyday beauty that we often overlook.

Places I’ve lived

Cape Town, say no more!

Hobbies

Surfing, kite-surfing, golf, trail running and photography.

Favourite travel moment

Standing on the edge of Danger Point at Victoria Falls, with a sheer 120-metre / 395-foot drop and tons of water thundering down - it’s really a surreal experience. Second to that, the flight over the Bazaruto and Quirimbas Archipelagos in Mozambique.

Where I have travelled

I have travelled to Mauritius, Mozambique, Botswana and the Zimbabwean side of Vic Falls. I also always try to make the Billabong Pro surfing competition in Jeffrey’s Bay along South Africa’s Eastern Cape coast every year.

What I love about Africa

The abundance of wildlife, the raw cultural history of each country and the ability to feel like time stands still. Cape Town also has the best wine route in the world, in my opinion!

Where I want to travel next

I would love to travel next to the Blyde River Canyon along the Panorama Route near the Kruger National Park, Sossusvlei in Namibia (home to some of the tallest dunes in the world) and the Masai Mara in Kenya – all great places to take amazing pictures
