Lesotho is such a small and sparsely populated country that it can easily be regarded as a single travel region.

This said, there are a few highlights. The Sehlabathebe National Park in the central eastern region of Lesotho, although fairly inaccessible (you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle) is perfect for solitude, scenery, and hiking.

North of Sehlabathebe, on Lesotho's eastern border, Sani Pass is a remarkable area for driving, or mountain biking while enjoying sprawling views. Most travellers use this winding, scenic road to access Lesotho from South Africa.

The northern highlands are another fantastic hiking region, while in central Lesotho, visitors can enjoy pony trekking around Malealea and Semonkong.

Semonkong in itself is a popular attraction, as it is home to the Semonkong Falls, also known as the Maletsunyane Falls, the highest single drop in southern Africa.

These picturesque falls drop 200 meters into a tranquil swimmable pool and offer some spectacular natural scenery.
