Sunset & sunrise from the Tree House

"Lion Sands was beautiful. We spent a night in the Tree House and that was something to behold - especially the sunset and sunrise. Our Ranger was knowledgeable, we saw wildlife up close and the food was great."

Exceeded all our expectations

"I cant speak highly enough of River Lodge. The rooms might have been a bit small, but the game viewing, service, etc exceeded all our expectations. Our ranger (DJ) was excellent and the staff were extremely accomodative to our needs, especially with my wife being a vegetarian. I'm generally not one for repeating a lodge/destination, but i might have to make an exception on this place."

We saw the big five in 24 hours

"Lion Sands was brilliant. We loved the staff and we saw the big five in 24 hours. The food was outstanding and the night in Lion Sands Ivory Lodge was something else. Really special - we had the best view and were welcomed by 16 or so elephants drinking in the river in front of us. We loved it."

Understated, clean & modern elegance

"Ivory Lodge is amazing and you are right about the room being more beautiful than what the photos show. I guess it's because the villas have such an understated, clean and modern elegance, such a nice change to the usual dark African theme that most other lodges have."
