Within the Kruger National Park there are a number of private concessions. Similar in concept to the Kruger private reserves that lie on the park's western boundary, these exclusive-use, unfenced concessions are set in prime Big 5 wilderness areas and deliver excellent crowd-free game viewing. Accommodation is limited to two or three luxury lodges per concession and includes several of the finest safari lodges in Southern Africa.
Guests staying at these lodges have access to the rest of the park and their ranger may take them into the Kruger itself for special sightings. However, the wealth of wildlife found within these Kruger concessions sees most visitors opting to enjoy the more intimate experiences they find in the concession. Moreover, private concessions offer guests safari activities not permitted in the Kruger Park such as spot-lit night drives, guided nature walks and off-road driving for close-up encounters.
