On 1 July 2013, Asilia Africa will open Kubatana Camp in the Gorongosa National Park. A leader in sustainable tourism, Asilia is known for its low-impact safari camps and Kubatana will continue in this vein by offering Gorongosa accommodation in just six tents (including a family tent and a honeymoon tent) each featuring an en-suite bathroom with an outdoor bucket shower.
Shaded by large fever trees on the banks of a beautiful river, Kubatana has exclusive access to a 15 000 hectare concession of the park. Activities offered by the camp include game drives, and since the camp is set in a private concession, off-road driving and night drives are allowed. Walking safaris and boat trips on Lake Urema complete the broad range of activities.
