Your Private Rail Experience

The Rovos Rail train winds itself through some of the most beautiful scenery in southern Africa so you may feel hard-pressed to turn away from the window, but each private suite is decadent and detailed enough to command your attention.

All Rovos Rail suites are designed to offer complete privacy and comfort, with the period Edwardian features merging with smooth wood-panelling in the spacious and air-conditioned suites.

You can choose between three different types of Rovos Rail luxury suites from which to enjoy your luxury train journey.

Both smoking and non-smoking private suites are available on Rovos Rail.

Royal Suites

There are four Royal suites per Rovos Rail train. Half a carriage in size, these luxury suites are by far the largest private rail suites in the world. Each Royal suite has its own private lounge and a large bathroom furnished with a classic Victorian bath and a shower.

In the Royal suites, expect the absolute finest in comfort and space on your luxury rail journey. All Rovos Rail suites accommodate two passengers (choose between twin and double beds).

Deluxe Suites

The Rovos Rail Deluxe suites accommodate two travellers in either twin or double beds. These suites have a lounge area and an en suite bathroom with a shower. There are three Deluxe suites per Rovos carriage.

Pullman Suites

The Pullman's may be the smallest of the three types of suites but they're still among the most spacious and luxurious of the world's finest luxury rail cabins. There is a sofa seat for daytime rail viewing, which then converts into a double or twin bed come evening. The Pullman's have an en suite bathroom with a shower.

Luxury Holiday Extras

Room service is available 24 hours a day. All Rovos Rail rooms have a mini bar, safe and a writing surface. The Rovos Rail suites are unique in that their windows can be opened, and so goggles are also provided in every suite for any guest with the urge to stick their head out the window.

All Rovos Rail suites have under-floor heating and electric blankets.
