Add to this the epitome of Crusoe-chic at Vamizi Island’s Casa Marjani and you have a recipe made in ‘get away from it all’ heaven. Casa Marjani, ‘marjani’ meaning ‘coral’ in the local Kimwani language, is a 5-bedroom private villa, sleeping up to six adults and seven children. It lies within 4.7 acres of forest on a pristine beachfront, guaranteeing absolute exclusivity and privacy.
Designed with the nearby lapping ocean and bleached driftwood as an inspiration, Casa Marjani is constructed from sustainably sourced wood and thatch, with quirky décor elements thrown into the mix: an old dhow sail covers the outer lounge area as a shade, carved driftwood is revitalised as art. The entertainment building boasts an indoor and an outdoor dining area plus several lounges, all flowing seamlessly through an open plan onto the beach. A tower above has a small study, children’s TV and playroom, and an open air chill-out and observation deck, which is perfect for stargazing on perfect tropical nights.
“Beachfront bliss, and barefoot luxury; I imagine staying here with your family for a week would be a real treat, super fun, and very relaxing.”Liesel van Zyl, Product Manager
This exquisite villa boasts five bedrooms, several lounge and dining areas, a viewing tower and a ‘tree-house’ bedroom, all within steps of your own private beach. With your own chef and hospitality team, a private 4x4 vehicle for exploring the island, and a separate children’s TV and entertainment room, you have the perfect place in which to enjoy a blissful family holiday or time out with a group of friends.
The reef, which is just metres away from the shore, is perfect for snorkelling, and the dive sites further off shore are out of this world. Kayaks and sailing boats are available to skim out over the water. Set in its own forest reserve spanning several acres, your privacy is guaranteed and your private chef and hospitality team ensure that every mealtime is an event and an experience. Featuring surf-fresh seafood and locally grown produce, the menu is always refreshing, delicious and healthy - all that is required from you is to sit back, relax, and enjoy the utterly gorgeous setting of this pristine Indian Ocean paradise.
An exquisite blend of coral, ocean blues, Zanzibari wooden furnishings and whitewashed walls are offset by vibrant splashes of colour and texture, coupled with plush and inviting sofas and loungers at every turn.
Set on a remote corner of Vamizi Island, which has a few small villages of Mwani people, many of whom are employed by the villa in a variety of capacities. Vamizi Island is part of the far-flung Quirimbas Archipelago off the northern coast of Mozambique.
Perfect as a blissful getaway for families or a group of friends, Casa Marjani offers the ultimate in privacy, exclusivity and sheer pampering in utterly gorgeous surroundings.
