“A beautiful beach bungalow situated right on the sands of a little cove in Bakoven. It is the perfect luxury seaside getaway.”Christine Mischker, Africa Villas Expert
The style of Seahorse Villa combines typical beach house design with interesting quirks to enhance its decorative appeal. Lime-washed wood, blue and white fabrics, and windows with folding shutters typify its classic Mediterranean style, which are punctuated with carefully chosen Persian carpets and burnished antique coffee tables.
Bakoven is one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in Cape Town and its views are suitably impressive. Bakoven has a charming village-like atmosphere, offering both privacy and exclusivity. Beta Beach is completely secluded and its giant boulders and white sands make it a haven for picnics with little coves to protect you from the wind. Despite being so close to the Mother City’s centre and some of its major attractions, while relaxing at your seaside villa you are forgiven for assuming that you are miles from any city.
The apartment is suitable for families with children or friends travelling together.
Between November and April is considered the best time to visit Cape Town, when you are almost guaranteed sunny days, which are often breezy. However, during this period expect the city to be busy and it might take a little longer than expected to move around if you have a jam-packed schedule. The weather can still be reasonably relied upon between March and April when it is a little cooler and there are not as many people around.
Seahorse Villas has excellent security in the form of external alarm beams and remote-controlled security shutters. There is no designated off-street parking. Thrice-weekly housekeeping services are available, as is Wi-Fi.
The modern kitchen features gleaming white countertops, wooden cupboards and easy-to-reach open shelving. It is equipped with all the standard appliances – including an oven and stove – as well as an adjoining laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Low-hanging chrome lighting fixtures are set above one side above three chrome bar stools to creating a great area for socialising or taking breakfast. It also comes equipped with a Nespresso machine.
The main bedroom downstairs features an extra-length, king-sized bed appointed entirely in white cotton. There is a door leading out from the bedroom to a patio, which offers spectacular sea views.
This bedroom features a double bed and is adjoined by a private patio with sea views.
This bedroom features a queen-sized bed.
This bedroom features twin beds.
There are two family bathrooms, one of which is upstairs and the other downstairs. The first is equipped with a shower, toilet and vanity, while the other also has a bathtub.
The downstairs living area comprises a lounge with several couches, a flat-screen television, an iPod docking station as well as a dining table seating six people. The red-varnished wooden flooring and Persian carpets contrast pleasantly with the white couches and dining table. There is another cosy lounge on the first floor that is adjoined by a balcony furnished with sun loungers.
The outside area is rustic-chic and features a covered patio overlooking the beach with retractable awnings. Enjoy candlelit dinners alfresco at the dining table and relax on the L-shaped sitting area with comfortable cushions and two sun loungers. There is a small garden that features an 8-seater Whirlpool spa – the ideal place to toast the sunset and give thanks for another perfect day in Africa.
