Guarded by the Twelve Apostles and Lion’s Head with views out across the cerulean Atlantic, Camps Bay is far from modest about her looks and is one of the trendiest places in Cape Town to see and be seen. The neighbourhood offers hip eateries, jovial sidewalk cafes and boutique shops on one side, and a wide, palm-fringed beach on the other.
Depending on whether you opt for the private 3-bedroom house or 6-bedroom villa, the property is suitable for families with older children or a large group of friends travelling together.
Between November and April is considered the best time to visit Cape Town, when you are almost guaranteed sunny days, which are often breezy. However, expect the city to be quite busy and it might take a little longer than expected to move around if you have a jam-packed schedule. The weather can still be reasonably relied upon between March and April when it is a little cooler and visitor numbers are lower.
There is an alarm system with security cameras and an armed response service; the garage can accommodate up to three vehicles.
The state-of-the-art kitchen features black granite countertops, sleek white handle-less cupboards and a double oven and stove with slender chrome extractor fan. There is an executive-style bar at one end. The kitchen is also equipped with a dishwasher and an ice machine, which are kept in the scullery.
The ocean-facing main bedroom has a vast sliding door that opens up onto a glass-walled balcony with stunning sea views. It features sleek coal-coloured tiled flooring with signature furniture pieces such as a cow-print dressing chair and matching carpet.
The other bedrooms vary depending on whether you choose to rent the 3-bedroom house or 6-bedroom villa. All are equipped with king-sized beds and en suite bathrooms. Some feature glass sliding doors that lead out onto the terrace.
Each room in the 3-bedroom house features an en suite bathroom while in the villa all but one room is en suite, but there are also two guest bathrooms.
One of the living areas features a wall-mounted wood-burning fireplace surrounded by three comfortable couches. The other lounge is equipped with a 40-inch HD LED television where there is also an iPod connection and surround-sound speakers. There is an indoor dining table between the kitchen and lounge as well as an area for enjoying your meals alfresco under the stars.
The villa boasts 94m² of outdoor space, which includes a garden, pool terrace and dining table seating eight people. The pool terrace is comfortably furnished with loungers and sofas where you can enjoy panoramic sea and mountain views. Light up the gas and enjoy a barbeque on the terrace overlooking the Atlantic.
The laundry room features a washing machine and tumble dryer.
