Designed and built in the 1960s, the villa has been tastefully transformed into a contemporary holiday retreat. Open-plan living spaces connect with the outdoors via large sliding doors and exposed wooden ceiling trusses expand interior spaces and enhance a light and airy beach house feel.
Rich parquet flooring and plush furnishings in neutral and earthy tones add to the chic atmosphere of the villa, featuring views of the mountains and sea from every window. The interior living spaces flow onto a wrap-around terrace and entertainment area complete with deep-set sofas and a built-in barbeque that overlooks a well-maintained garden and heated pool.
Situated at the very heart of Camps Bay, Lavaya is within easy walking distance of one of Cape Town’s most beautiful Blue-Flag beaches. One of South Africa’s premier summer destinations, Camps Bay is best known for its Mediterranean-style, palm-lined beachfront known as ‘the strip’ - home to the hottest restaurants, coolest cafés and most glamorous nightclubs in Cape Town. Head to Café Caprice for sublime cocktails or to St Yves for a late-night party.
Should you wish to explore the Mother City further, the villa is a short drive away from Cape Town’s city centre and the got-it-all V&A Waterfront.
With five bedrooms and a comfortable open-plan design, the fully-serviced Villa Lavaya is an ideal family retreat. Two of the bedrooms have shared family bathrooms and, barring the master bedroom, the villa's beds can be used as double or twins, or even locked together end-to-end to create a child-friendly space. The large garden and heated pool with diving board are a perfect addition and the pool has a detachable, child-proof fence for peace of mind.
From November to March, Cape Town basks under long, hot summer days and balmy nights, making Camps Bay the best place to be. While peak-season December and January are busy, the villa is located close enough to the action yet far enough from the crowds to ensure a peaceful night's sleep. February sees Cape Town’s hottest weather with cloudless days, while March and April bring cooler, hazy days and almost empty beaches.
The winter rains arrive in May and continue into the spring months of September and October. Regular cold fronts deliver wet weather but the periods in between see gloriously clear days that are made to be outside.
The villa is serviced daily by a live-in housekeeper who will welcome you on arrival and look after the house during your stay. There is a full concierge service and fresh bed linen and towels are provided daily.
Featuring a gleaming breakfast bar, the modern, fully-equipped kitchen flows into the open-plan living area, making it perfect for family meals.
Crisp, white bed linen and drapes and simple, clean lines give the master bedroom a spacious beach house feel. Large sliding doors offer garden-framed views of the blue horizon while the en suite bathroom offers unobstructed views from its free-standing bathtub.
The simple, natural interior design continues in the other four bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms while the other two share a family bathroom. The rooms have beds that can be used as twins or doubles, or even locked together end-to-end.
The villa has three en suite bathrooms and a shared family bathroom for the remaining two rooms. Each with a shower and bath tub, they are decorated in modern, clean tones.
