Cycling is a great way to get off the beaten track, and meet local people.

Although Malawi is one of Africa's smaller countries, it has a huge diversity of landscapes. The ever-changing scenery and varied terrain make for interesting cycling - with good condition roads around Lake Malawi, plenty of well-worn dirt tracks in rural areas, and more challenging mountain biking in the forests and on the plateau.

Bicycles are the main mode of transport in Malawi; some even offer a taxi service with the passenger sitting on a small seat on the back. As you cycle the back roads, you're sure to be met with wide smiles and have plenty of opportunities for a quick chat.

We can tailormake a mountain bike trip from lodge to lodge, or the more adventurous can use pedal-power to explore the magnificent Nyika Plateau.
