The Danforth Lodge is situated at Cape Maclear, a small fishing village renowned for sun, sand and pure relaxation. Bordering on the Lake Malawi National Park and surrounded by islands, this is one of the most beautiful locations on this magnificent lake.

The lodge is owner-run and offers personal attention. Patient and encouraging water sports instructors can tutor you in waterskiing, wakeboarding, snorkelling and sailing.

Lake Malawi is ideal for the diving enthusiast; clear, fresh, warm water, no tides or currents and over 600 different species of brightly coloured tropical fish known as cichlids. Other activities on offer include fishing, mountain biking and cultural outings to the traditional village.

The Danforth Lodge has shady lawns, leading to a clean beach and crystal-clear water. Moored 50 metres away is the luxury yacht, "Mufasa".

There is also a lovely upper deck, designed as a relaxation area, that houses books and magazines that can be enjoyed accompanied by stunning views out over the lake. The upper deck can also be used for special occasions and candlelit dining.

The Danforth Lodge has both local and international chefs who prepare a tempting selection of dishes for the buffet table, using the freshest of ingredients.

The dining area seats 24 guests and is recessed into an alcove to create a cosy family setting. Early meals and child-friendly menus can be arranged.

Danforth Lodge has 8 spacious, en suite family rooms, tastefully decorated in cool, nautical colours.

All rooms have lovely views over the lake and feature air-conditioning, a tea and coffee station and are provided with beautiful fresh flowers daily.
