Chileka International Airport

Prior to the completion of the modern international airport at Lilongwe, Chileka was the aviation focal point of Malawi. Although most international traffic is now ushered through Lilongwe, Chileka still handles Southern African routes and a sizeable portion of domestic travel.

SAA runs flights between Blantyre and Johannesburg on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Air Malawi (QM) runs flights between Blantyre and Johannesburg every day except Saturday.
