Kande beach is an idyllic campsite on the shores of Lake Malawi about 20km south of Chintheche. It's a popular stopover for overlanders and backpackers due to the beauty of the beach and the relaxed and social atmosphere of the campsite.

A bar and a kiosk sell food and drinks, and there's a restaurant as well. You can hire pedalboats, catamarans, canoes, windsurfers and snorkelling equipment, or rent a dormitory if you don't want to camp.

Guests stay here courtesy of the local chief, with whom the owners of Kande Beach have a mutually beneficial arrangement. The owners are involved in several community development projects in the area.
