Kaya Mawa is at the head of a crescent-shaped bay on Likoma Island, surrounded by mango trees and ancient baobabs. This remote island is home to a very small community, surrounded by the crystal clear waters of Lake Malawi.
The main camp is located in a rocky outcrop, consisting of a bar, dining room and rock pool. Kaya Mawa has 10 stone, thatched cottages, with a honeymoon suite on its own private island. The camp was built entirely by hand, in partnership with the local community.
The location is perfect for a holiday of total relaxation. Relax on one of the island's stunning beaches, while you gaze out on the crystal clear waters of the lake. Spend your days swimming and exploring the island at your own leisure. You could also occupy your time by engaging in numerous water activities, including snorkeling, scuba diving and sailing.
Day trips into Mozambique and to visit local communities can also be arranged, giving you the opportunity to experience African culture.
