The geography of Malawi
This map of Malawi clearly shows a long and narrow country, dominated by the quiet waters of Lake Malawi - which is nearly 600km long and borders the east of the country.
As the third largest lake in Africa, it is often the drawcard for visitors with Malawi accommodation scattered around Cape Maclear, as well as on both Mumbo Island and Likoma Island.
