Located in Lake Malawi National Park these two islands are unpopulated by both man and mosquito. Mumbo and Dwombe are roughly ten kilometres apart and a company called Kayak Africa operates camps on both.

The accommodation, albeit tented, is of a high standard. Visitors paddle across the lake from Cape Maclear (about an hour to Dwombe, and two hours to Mumbo). If necessary, a boat can be arranged instead. Once on the islands, guests are spoilt for things to do. Spend the day exploring caves, kyaking or simply lazing around. The diving here is excellent and the hammocks are worn to a soft thread.
