Developed on the former sugar estate of botanist, Charles Telfair, the colonial style buildings are inspired by the detailed elegance and grace of this bygone era. The hotel buildings are inspired by the grand sugar estate mansions, with turrets, louvered doors and polished wooden floors. Le Telfair has been tastefully decorated with the original watercolours of Annabelle, Telfair's wife.

The original homestead has been lovingly restored and is now one of the fine dining options available at Le Telfair Golf and Spa.

The countryside that surrounds Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort is impressive. With the foothills of the Plaine Champagne Mountain descending in a sheer drop of over 500 metres on one side, while on the other side stretches long white beaches and the vast Indian Ocean.

Lounge around the swimming pool or on the beach on one of the many sun loungers, take advantage of the fully equipped gym, 3 floodlit all-weather tennis courts or explore the area on mountain bikes. Of course, this is Mauritius so there are a number of water sports to try, as well as a kite surfing school run by qualified instructors.

Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort offers 5 restaurants, allowing you to new cuisines and a variety of beautiful locations.

Annabella's is the main restaurant, offering breakfast and a daily changing 5-course choice dinner. It has great views of the mountains and the river, and a terrace perfect for starlit dinners.

Fish and the freshest seafood are served Japanese style, grilled on the spot, or cooked to your personal taste, at Gin'ja, on the banks of the Citronniers River.

Le Palmier is the pool bar and lounge but also light, Mediterranean style cuisine, influenced by the flavours of open wood fired cooking.

Le Chateau de Bel Ombre is Charles Telair's original residence. Built in the 19th century, and set amidst elegant French gardens at the edge of the golf course and at the foot of mountain. The antique wood panelling and the huge surrounding veranda create an intimate ambiance to savour cocktails, tea and elegant cuisine.

The romantically decorated rooms and suites are accommodated in villas of 6 or 8 rooms with views of the ocean or the lagoon.



The Superior Rooms with a sitting area, spacious en-suite bathroom also have the private terrace or balcony with is standard for all the rooms and suites. Certain rooms have a sofa bed which can accommodate up to 2 children up to 12 years. Otherwise a single adult extra bed can be placed in the room or a baby cot can be requested. Certain Superior rooms have an inter-leading facility with a Junior Suite or an Ocean Suite, which makes a perfect choice for families.

The romantic Deluxe Room has a wide four-poster bed and a generously proportioned bathroom.

The Junior Suites are similar to the Delux Rooms, however in the bathroom, the generously proportioned old style bathtub is free standing. The ground floor suites have an outdoor shower facility, as do the Senior and Ocean Suites on the ground floor.

The Senior Suites and the Ocean Suites feature romantic bedrooms with spacious en-suite bathroom, private dining room, lounge area and spacious terrace. A butler service is also available for in-suite dining and a specific menu has been designed to this effect.
