Home to vast areas of seemingly pristine natural habitats, Mozambique's environment has nevertheless been badly affected by decades of war, poverty and poaching. There is no doubt that the corner has been turned but the country still faces major challenges in the drive to restock its wildlife parks and to safeguard fragile habitats from careless development.
