Barra Beach

Several of Mozambique's most beautiful beaches are within a short distance of Inhambane. Located between the Indian Ocean and Lake Pembane, Barra is one of these beaches.

Northeast of Inhambane, approximately 5 kilometres before you reach Tofu Beach, the road splits. After a further 7 kilometres down a sandy track you reach Barra Beach. There are only two accommodations available at Barra, either of which will pick you up at the Tofu junction if you contact them in advance. There is a little spot called the Bar Babalaza located at the junction, where you can grab a pizza and drinks.

Winter is the best time for surfing at Barra Beach.
