The Bazaruto Archipelago is rapidly becoming one of Africa's top beach destinations for the discerning traveller, but this gleaming chain of islands remains relatively untouched.
Part of the reason for this is that the archipelago falls within the Bazaruto National Park, and the conservation of this fragile ecosystem is integrally linked to sustainable tourism and limited development.
For this reason, only a handful of lodges and Mozambique villas have been built, each carefully positioned on the remote beaches of Benguerra and Bazaruto Island.
Here you can enjoy barefoot luxury at its best, untainted by mass development, with just you and a long stretch of powdery sand, lapped by warm waters ideal for swimming, snorkelling, fishing, and scuba diving.
When Cyclone Flavio struck in February 2007, all the lodges were affected. Since being rebuilt and upgraded, Bazaruto accommodation now has a fresh look and ultra-luxurious feel.
