View all Accommodation in the Quirimbas
The Quirimbas Archipelago has a range of luxurious and exclusive accommodation options to suit honeymooners, water sport enthusiasts and those just wanting to soak up some sun in a tropical paradise.
Choose between colonial villas or romantic, thatched chalets right on the water's edge. Only a handful of the islands have been set up for tourism, and the Quirimbas remains one of the last undeveloped jewels in Africa.
The pace of life is slow on the islands and you can spend long, lazy days exploring colourful coral reefs, strolling along deserted beaches and feasting on delicious seafood.
Medjumbe Private Island is a romantic and exclusive getaway on a tiny island, less than 1km in length. Palm-thatched beach chalets are luxuriantly furnished, and each has a private plunge pool with ocean views. This really is a honeymooner's paradise with added extras like a private picnic for two on a deserted island.
Stay in beautifully restored Portuguese villas on historic Ibo Island, a place where time has stood still. Ibo Island Lodge has three villas, each over one hundred years old, with thick walls, lofty high ceilings and large windows to let in the warm, tropical breeze.
Quilalea Island Lodge can only accommodate 18 guests, on the remote and uninhabited island of Quilalea. Luxurious villas, with beautiful teak furniture and extremely comfortable beds, open onto large, private verandahs overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Matemo Island is a good option for a family holiday. Thatched bungalows line a beautiful stretch of beach around the northern tip of a private island. During the day you can relax in your hammock, or take part in the wide range of activities from water skiing to beach volleyball.
Vamizi Island Lodge has 10 spacious beach villas set far apart, so you can relax in private. Each beach house is beautifully appointed with an enormous bedroom, spectacular bathroom and open-fronted lounge. The island is protected by a coral reef, so you can snorkel straight from the beach.
