View all tailored tours in the Quirimbas Archipelago
With soft sand, sunny skies, unexplored reefs and magnificent seafood - the Quirimbas is an unforgettable island getaway and will deliver an unforgettable tropical beach experience.
But it doesn't stop there; this diverse destination offers so much more than a beach holiday.
Our Quirimbas Archipelago tours let you kick back in luxury on a private island and experience great diving and deep-sea fishing, then fly off for a few days of game viewing in one of Africa's best known reserves, or learn about Ibo Island's unique and colourful history.
Short flights over brilliant blue sea, whisk you from island to idyllic island. Or, you may prefer to start your island escape with a few days in Pemba on Mozambique's mainland; tracking wildlife on exciting bush walks, paddling among mangrove trees or wandering round local craft markets.
On the islands you can see the vibrant culture, crumbling ruins and beautiful silver jewellery of Ibo, before jetting off to the tiny island paradise of Medjumbe, or taking to the crystal-clear waters around Matemo for some diving, fishing, sailing, water-skiing or kayaking.
There are regular flights between Johannesburg and Pemba, so a great option is to experience a few days tracking the Big 5 in South Africa's Kruger National Park or Madikwe Game Reserve, then fly to the islands for some after-safari relaxation.
Other Quirimbas tours combine the islands with game viewing in East Africa. The archipelago lies in the north of Mozambique, close to the Tanzanian border and world-renowned Serengeti National Park (as well as many other East Africa safari options).
It only takes about an hour to fly from Dar es Salaam to Pemba and additional flights are planned, making this an increasingly popular safari and beach holiday.
