Tete Province » Tete province

A bizarre product of the colonial carve-up of Africa, the Tete province extends like an obtuse wedge into north-western Mozambique, bordering Zimbabwe to the west, Zambia to the north, and Malawi to the east.

Tete Province receives many travellers, but this is due more to its strategic location than its charms, which are fairly meagre. Aside from Tete, the province's eponymous capital and arguably the hottest town in Mozambique, the old Boroma church mission is probably Tete's most interesting feature.
