Namibia » Parks & Reserves

The largest area covered by Namibia's parks and reserves is along the coast - the Namib-Naukluft Park to the south, and the Skeleton Coast Park, which hugs the coast all the way up to the Angolan border in the north.

Within these parks you'll find some interestingly adapted desert plants and animals and the inland desert areas are home to Namibia's legendary desert elephants. For Big Game viewing, the Etosha National Park in northern Namibia is host to a diverse range of large mammals and is particularly good for predators.

If you're more interested in bird-watching in Nambia's parks and reserves, then besides the 340 species of Etosha, you'll find masses of bird species in the lush wetlands of the Caprivi Game Park and the Caprivi's tiny Mahango Game Reserve boasts a staggering 420 species.
