Onguma Luxury Tented Camp is situated on the eastern side of Etosha, bordering Fisher's Pan. Onguma Private Nature Reserve has more than 20,000 hectares of protected land and wildlife, with over 30 different animal species living in savannah, bushveld, omuramba and dry pan ecosystems. Age-old and well-worn migration routes, once used by elephant and buffalo, wander through Onguma's 3 dry riverbeds.

You can enjoy game drives in Onguma Nature Reserve. Alternatively, you can also participate in a nature drive into Etosha National Park where you will be afforded the opportunity of viewing various game in the largest national park in Namibia. Various waterholes in and around Etosha ensure fantastic photographic opportunities and the thrill of seeing some of the largest mammals in the world.

More than 300 bird species can be viewed at Onguma. In fact, the reserve has the largest breeding colony of white-backed vultures in Namibia. During the summer months the camp becomes a bird watcher's paradise with thousands of species migrating to seasonal wetlands. This part of Namibia has been identified as one of the key bird watching sites in Southern Africa.

Onguma also became part of an innovative custodianship project for the black rhino. 6 black rhinos were darted in Etosha National Park and shipped to the reserve, where they are protected and monitored.

Unfortunately, no children under the age of 12 permitted at Onguma Luxury Safari Tented Camp.

7 spacious tents make up the u-shaped design of the camp, allowing for both privacy and fantastic views. From each bed in every tent, there is a direct view out onto a waterhole that is floodlit at night.

Each tent has both an indoor and outdoor shower, a modern zinc bath, a separate toilet, 2 stone basins and a private sitting area.

The classic safari tents at Onguma Luxury Tented Camp are styled in the colours of the bush, softened by draping billowing white fabric. With thick white towels, cool cotton dressing gowns, oversized European pillows, retro-inspired fans, stainless steel lights, gunmetal grey and white linen, the attention to detail is superb.
