Karas Region

The Karas Region of Namibia is wide-open and arid. It receives fewer visitors than the northern parts of the country, so if you're looking for isolation and stunning, empty beauty then this is the region to visit.

The hot springs at Ai-Ais abut the awe-inspiring Fish River Canyon, but this is an anomaly of proximity in the Karas region where the tourist attractions are many but far between. The Kokerboom (quiver tree) forest, the Brukaros Mountain (née volcano) near Berseba, the coastal resort town of Luderitz and several guest and game farms are all widely dispersed.
