Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is one of Namibia's more remote destinations, located in the Purros Conservancy, a no risk malaria destination, which can be reached in a 4x4 vehicle or on a 2hr15min flight from Windhoek.

The cottages are decorated in a rich and sensuous fusion of ochre, honey and sand colors, but each one has its own unique style and atmosphere; ethnic and locally carved furnishing adds to the romance and excitement of the pervading African ambience.

The lodge has a spectacular wraparound view and you can spend your days lazing around the pool, reading a book in the cool comfort of the library, relaxing in one of the 2 open air lounges or having a body massage.

Safari activities at the lodge include tracking the desert adapted elephants, twice daily game and scenic drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives, morning desert walks and cultural visits to the local Himba village.

The menu at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge changes daily, serving a delicious fusion of Italian and African cuisine with much of the fresh produce coming from the lodge's organic garden. In the evening, enjoy dinner by candlelight in one of the 2 dining rooms, on the terrace by the pool or around a log fire in the traditional Namibian boma, under the stars.

Okahirongo Elephant Lodge provides accommodation in 7 luxurious chalets with large en suite bathrooms, each fitted with a bath tub that overlooks the magnificent surroundings. All of the chalets have a spacious private gazebo with a queen size sun bed, so you can relax in comfort after a day's desert safari activities.
