Oranjemund

Oranjemund is situated in Namibia at the mouth of the long and beautiful Orange River. It is a desert fairyland and, unfortunately, a 'no go area' for the average visitor.

Even though there is a border post between South Africa and Namibia, it exists purely for the diamond industry, and only people with passes are allowed in. To keep the diamond workers happy in such a remote place, the town has every facility you could want with beautiful gardens, efficient services and a plentiful supply of fresh food in the shops.
