In Africa, as elsewhere in the world, crime exists, and we advise that you keep an eye on any valuables and have your wits about you at all times.

But in saying that, most crime takes place in the crowded cities and it is very rare to be robbed in a remote campsite or national park.

Also, overland crew members are aware of the potential problem areas and these are avoided entirely.

Political and social unrest is, unfortunately, common in many African countries and we constantly monitor Foreign Office and State Department advice. Tours are organised with client safety as top priority.
