    Food and Wine

Rani Resorts do not provide 'nouvelle cuisine': rather, they prefer to offer you good, wholesome cooking, made from locally available produce. Food is fresh and made flair, and typically reflects the culinary traditions of the region.

Guests can also enjoy a range of spirits as well as a selection of wines, malts and soft drinks.

    Conservation

Rani Resorts design and build their resorts and hotels to the highest standards of comfort and luxury possible within the infra-structural confines and logistical restrictions of the locations they operate in. Each hotel and resorts is developed to benefit the people of the area and to conserve indigenous flora and fauna.

Rani Resorts develop hotels and resorts responsibly to the benefit of the people of the region and conserving indigenous flora and fauna. A full-time environmentalist ensures that the hotels are as eco-friendly as possible, working with local parks and reserve authorities to ensure that the impact on the environment is kept to the minimum.

The resorts' grounds are regularly subjected to environmentally friendly spray programmes against mosquitoes to keep malaria risks in check.

Not only does Rani Resorts liaise with government authorities to ensure sound conservation practices are followed, but they also provide environmental education and encourage the sustainable use of natural resources.

Most of Rani Resorts' properties are situated in parks such as Victoria Falls and Niassa Game Reserves and the Bazaruto and Quirimbas Marine National Parks. The company actively works to protect the flagship species that occur in these parks - the African wild dog, the black rhino, dugong, turtles, dolphins, whale sharks and other species of whales.

Rani Resorts has formed a partnership with government, wildlife authorities and NGOs on Bazaruto Island. In term of this, turtle nesting sites are monitored, a strict tag and release policy is followed for fishing activities and the national park's staff are provided with transport, health care and communication facilities courtesy of Rani Resorts.

In Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, Rani Resorts runs the Wisdom 4 Wildlife programme together with Shearwater Adventures and the reserve's guides. This involves local school pupils in interacting with and identifying local flora and fauna. Rani Resorts has also been involved in the reintroduction of endangered black rhino into the area.

    Responsible Tourism

The cultural environment in which of the Rani Resorts' accommodations is set is one to which the company is sensitive. Guests are encouraged to visit local villages on cultural tours and to experience the traditional way of life.

Guests are also given the opportunity to buy good quality local crafts, thereby ensuring that the locals benefit directly from tourism - both financially and in terms of building pride in the local heritage and traditions.

Apart from community development projects that focus on infrastructure, facilities and education, Rani Resorts has also built two mosques on islands in the Quirimbas to serve the needs of the islanders.
