Rwanda Travel: Go Gorilla Trekking

The experts tend to agree: Rwanda is the best travel destination in Africa to see the critically endangered mountain gorilla. A Gorilla trekking adventure through dripping, misty rainforest to sit peacefully with these inquisitive giant primates is a humbling, and for many, enlightening experience.

Rwanda may be small and the Rwanda travel industry is of course heavily biased towards gorilla trekking but the country boasts a whole lot more than just that.

There is also excellent hiking in rugged rainforest along the Virunga Volcanoes range, superb bird watching just about everywhere and even some game viewing: great primates - including chimpanzees - in the Nyungwe Forest National Park and classic big African mammals at the Akagera National Park.
