You are met on arrival at Kigali airport and transferred into town for lunch. After lunch, set off to the north through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterise much of Rwanda's landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the Virunga volcanoes.

Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge, or go for a short hike around the property.

An early start takes you to Kinigi to track in the Parc National des Volcans. The journey north goes through the verdant landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the towering volcanoes, sometimes with as many as five peaks visible.

Tracking the gorillas through the forest requires patience and stamina, sometimes walking for a few hours in the mud and wet, but the effort is well rewarded when you come across these gentle creatures in thier natural habitat.

Either go gorilla tracking in the Parc National des Volcans (on payment of supplement at time of booking), climb the Visoke volcano, trek to Karisoke Research Centre which Dian Fossey set up, visit local communities, or simply relax at camp.

Leave for Kigali. Time permitting, go for a tour of the city including a visit to the market, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre and a genocide memorial. Transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
