Big game fishing is extremely popular in the Seychelles and is possible all year round although the sea can be rough during the monsoon season between June and September.
The warm waters of Seychelles supports large fish such as marlin, sailfish, tuna, wahoo, dorado, kingfish and barracuda. Sailfish are probably the most sought after, with people coming from all over the world to cast their rods in search of this magnificent fish.
The best area for sailfish is often the area between Mahé and Silhouette Islands and world record breaking dog tooth tuna has been caught off Denis.
The main islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue are the best places to find charter boats, although many of the luxury resorts often provide boats too. Fishing charters vary in size from small vessels with outboard motors to 15m luxury vessels equipped with all the modern conveniences.
