When is the best time to travel to Seychelles? The best time to visit Seychelles depends on what you want to do on your holiday. Windsurfing and sailing is best in the months of May and October. Diving is best from March through until November.
South East Trade Winds blow over the Seychelles from May to October, and monsoons sweep the islands from November to April. January is the wettest month and July and August the driest months.

How accessible is Seychelles?
There are direct flights from Johannesburg to Seychelles twice weekly. The flight duration is approximately 5 hours.
How do we get from island to island?
Travelling between the islands is by boat, helicopter or light aircraft charter. The transport arrangements are irregular and sometimes infrequent. It is therefore best to ensure that all transfers are arranged prior to travel.
Is there a special luggage restriction on the flights to Seychelles?
Most flights have a luggage restriction of 20kg which is standard for flights in Africa. However, some of the charter flights and private flights have a restriction of only 15 kg.
Do the hotels have a dress code?
During the day there is no dress code (a swimming costume and wrap is perfectly suitable) but at dinner most hotels and restaurants have a relatively smart dress code.
Men need to wear collared shirts, closed shoes and long pants; women's dress code is more flexible but needs to be relatively smart, such as a summer dress and sandals, or trousers and a smart-casual shirt.
Are there good honeymoon specials and how do they work?
There are significant discounts to be found for honeymooners, depending on the season you travel in, the length of your stay, and the hotel you stay in. Some hotels require that you travel within 9 months of getting married while others are happy to provide specials as long as you travel within 18 months of your wedding date.

How children friendly are the hotels and what children's facilities are available?
Some of the larger hotels and resorts are very family friendly with fantastic facilities for kids. Other hotels do not accept children and are more targeted towards couples and honeymooners.
What is normally included at the hotel in the price we will pay?
This depends entirely on where you stay as there is no standard rule, but many properties only include bed and breakfast. Most hotels will also include all non-motorized water sports.
Can we go water-skiing in Seychelles?
No. In the Seychelles no motorized water sports are allowed because of the interference with the coral reefs and marine life.

What currency and kind of money will I need in Seychelles?
In Seychelles Euros and US dollars are king. Cash and credit cards are accepted at most hotels and resorts, but at local markets you should take local Seychelles Rupees to avoid getting overcharged.
How can I make certain my valuables will be safe?
All hotels have safes where you can store your valuables, if not in your room then at reception.
What is the standard tipping procedure?
Tipping at your hotel is entirely at your discretion and is not mandatory. However, it is customary to tip 10% of your billed amount. You can either tip individual staff members whose service you appreciated and whose names you remembered by leaving money in an envelope for them at reception, or otherwise you can just leave a general tip at reception at the end of your stay which will be shared equally among the staff.
