River Bend Country Lodge is a gracious property, looked after by dedicated staff who are also committed to the conservation and rehabilitation of local, natural life. Watch herds of elephants feeding nearby and listen to the birdsong of the 250 or so species that inhabit the area around the lodge.

Enjoy a personalised game drive into the mountains and discover varying vegetation from thick forested valleys to open savannah plains. Track the movements of game on foot, learn about the medicinal values of the bush and stroll through the citrus orchards of the adjacent farm.

Alternatively, go on cultural and historical excursions, learn about astronomy from the rangers' talks during night drives, or enrol your kids in the lodge's special tracking courses. Astronomy packages can be arranged on request.

The cuisine at River Bend Country Lodge is a blend of traditional old world food and Pan-African world fusion, and is matched with some of the finest wines from around the country.

Meals are not restricted to the dining room and you're encouraged to make use of one the various verandas or to arrange a packed picnic to enjoy on your game drive. Romantic candlelit dinners in the privacy of your room are welcomed.

A specially designed kiddies menu of all-time favourites, served at your convenience, is also available.
