Western Cape, South Africa » Cities and towns » Barrydale

In the beautiful and fertile Tradouw valley lies the peaceful town of Barrydale.

Flanked by the Langeberg mountain range through which a pass leads to Swellendam, the Barrydale area is known for its stately houses, wild flowers and fruit farms.

Barrydale has also become quite a popular retirement refuge, though its more spritely residents have some wonderful walks at their disposal. The surrounding foothills are decorated by flowers in spring and summer, and offer lovely views of the surrounding mountains.
