Situated in KwaZulu-Natal between the Free State and Mpumalanga borders lies the area known as battlefields.

Some of the most important battles in South African history were fought here; Zulu vs Boer, Zulu vs British and Boer vs British. As a result this area is rich in historical memorabilia and artefacts.

One of the most terrible battles of this region was the Battle of Blood River, when the Ncome river ran red with the blood of the Zulus. The site of this battle and many more are open for inspection as are the numerous museums, monuments and relics.

The Battlefields are in the KwaZulu-Natal region.
