On arrival to Durban Airport you pick up your rental car, a group B with air-con, and make your way to Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse in the Drakensberg. This is a beautiful drive, so you may want to take some more time and enjoy the villages and arts and crafts along the way.
Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse is a haven for food lovers, situated in the Drakensberg Mountains, adjoining the Giants Castle Nature Reserve. Richard and Mouse Poynton have travelled the overseas food world and worked with renowned chefs, thus their gourmet getaway is intimate, personal and very welcoming.
Trout fishing, horse riding, hiking, birding and swimming in clear mountain streams with rock pools are part of the charm. Exciting cookery courses are also offered.

- Days 3 - 4: Cleopatra - Three Tree Hill

You depart Cleopatra Mountain and drive to Three Tree Hill which is about 3 hours' drive away. Here you are accommodated in a chalet built on a hillside amongst the striking Aloe Spectabilis and the Paperbark Acacia with views that inspired a guest to write 'Africa at its finest!'. The lodge overlooks the Spioenkop Game Reserve, where white rhino, giraffe, zebra, eland, kudu, numerous smaller antelope can be seen, perhaps even from your bath! 270 bird species from Cape Vultures and Lanner Falcons to Buff Streaked Chats and Fairy Flycatchers have been recorded in the area.
Activities at the lodge are at your own cost and include the famous tour of the Battle of Spionkop, Colenso & Churchill's Capture. Other Boer War and Anglo Zulu War Battlefield tours can also be arranged. Horse rides are also available at the lodge.

Thonga Beach Lodge is set on the pristine shores of the Maputuland coast, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This luxury lodge is the ideal place to discover one of the most unspoilt wilderness beaches left on the African continent.
It is a magical place of coastal forests, grasslands, bush, shimmering lakes and sandy beaches. Its crystal clear, warm waters offer South Africa's best snorkeling and fantastic off-shore scuba diving. All activities are included in the rate except diving and turtle tracking (Nov - Jan) which is at extra cost.
