Bakoven is a tiny suburb just after Camps Bay on Victoria Road to Llandudno and Hout Bay. Located on the granitic Atlantic seaboard, it's just as exclusive and upmarket as its neighbours, though it has an interesting character.
Below Victoria Road, Bakoven is like a country village. Neighbours greet one another in the streets and know each other's business. Seaside bungalows are the order of the day. Above Victoria Road Bakoven is just like its big sister, Camps Bay; fashionable, sunkissed, and fabulously wealthy.
Bakoven Beach is a charming and secluded beach on the seafront, accessible via the kind of steep staircase that predominates the Atlantic coastline beaches. Bakoven beach is a place to relax on your own or with a few friends, because the hordes of cool kids generally go to Clifton or Camps Bay.
