Opulent Ambiance - French panache extends to every corner of the villa.
Country Life - activities include swimming, tennis, mountain walks and visits to the village.
Stunning Scenery - set in a valley boasting some of South Africa's most prestigious wineries.
Tucked away in the tranquil vineyards of the Franschhoek valley, the private wine and olive estate of Domaine des Anges provides the stunning backdrop for La Residence, a luxurious guest house designed along the lines of a French country chateau.
This fertile valley and the picturesque village of Franschhoek have become world-famous for fine wine, superb cuisine and warm hospitality.
There are many things to do in and around Franschhoek. After a morning spent exploring this beautiful area, you can enjoy the luxury of relaxing on expansive patios, admiring the view and breathing in the delicate scents of nature.
Alternatively, you can unwind in the cloistered courtyard with its private pool. A separate home movie room and private library add to the secluded splendour of the villa.
At La Residence, world-class service is the order of the day. If you book the villa exclusively, you will be provided with a private butler, a private chef and a chauffeur with car on hand.
Situated in a valley of abundance and variety, the kitchen at La Residence uses only the freshest ingredients which are locally sourced where possible. The cuisine has a Mediterranean flair and is complimented by carefully selected wines from the Franschhoek valley and surrounding wine farms.
Breakfasts and brunches are generous and may include fresh seasonal fruits, farm honey and yoghurt, as well as a cooked English breakfast. Lunches are light, often salad-based, frequently featuring Franschhoek salmon trout - smoked, steamed or seared. Dinners are usually 3 or 4-course affairs offering you a selection of South African food and wines.
As La Residence was originally intended as a family home, the kitchen is very accessible and you can sip an early morning cup of coffee at the kitchen table or enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the comfortable seating area by the hearth. Chic but relaxed!
La Residence has 11 luxuriously furnished suites. All rooms are decorated with treasures such as fine French antiques, exquisite Persian rugs and an eclectic mix of objets d'art, but each has its own distinct character.
The regal master suite, which takes up most of one wing upstairs, is for those seeking the ultimate in luxury. The suite provides a study and private balcony, his and hers dressing rooms, a palatial bathroom and panoramic views of the surrounding Franschhoek valley.
