DiningSituated in a valley of abundance and variety, the kitchen at La Residence uses only the freshest ingredients which are locally sourced where possible. The cuisine has a Mediterranean flair and is complimented by carefully selected wines from the Franschhoek valley and surrounding wine farms.
Breakfasts and brunches are generous and may include fresh seasonal fruits, farm honey and yoghurt, as well as a cooked English breakfast. Lunches are light, often salad-based, frequently featuring Franschhoek salmon trout - smoked, steamed or seared. Dinners are usually 3- or 4-course affairs offering you a selection of South African food and wines.
As La Residence was originally intended as a family home, the kitchen is very accessible and you can sip an early morning cup of coffee at the kitchen table or enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the comfortable seating area by the hearth. Chic but relaxed!
La Residence has 5 luxuriously furnished suites. All rooms are decorated with treasures such as fine French antiques, exquisite Persian carpets and an eclectic mix of objets d'art but each has its own distinct character.
The regal master suite, which takes up most of one wing upstairs, is for those seeking the ultimate in luxury. The suite provides a study and private balcony, his and hers dressing rooms, a palatial bathroom and panoramic 360 degree views of the surrounding Franschhoek Valley.
