Welgelegen Guest House

A stylish city guesthouse in a leafy cul-de-sac of the City Bowl, Cape Town.

  • Character - a beautifully renovated Victorian guest house with a chic African feel.

  • Central Setting - meaning 'well located' in Dutch, this gem is very close to the city.

  • Quality Service - Lanie will see to it that you are informed of where to shop, where to eat and what to see.

Welgelegen Guest House is a comfortably elegant, Victorian era guest house with an African twist. The establishment comprises two Victorian houses that have been expertly renovated by the owner, Lanie van Reenen.

Simple burgundy's, browns, Persian carpets and understated elegance characterise the decor.

Curl up next to the fire with a glass of port and a book or a game of chess on a chilly winter's night or recline in the sunny, fragrant courtyard next to the cool, dark plunge pool in summer.

The new therapy room offers alternative therapies, massage and beauty treatments to pep you up after a hard day sight seeing and lying on the beach.

Located at the base of Table Mountain, Welgelegen is just round the corner from Kloof Street and Long Street, the bustling and trendy centre of Cape Town.

Location

Welgelegen is in Gardens, a suburb in the City Bowl of Cape Town.
