Llandudno is one of the most beautiful beaches in Cape Town, situated only 18 kilometres from the centre of the city. The tranquil cove is perfect for those seeking complete peace and privacy. Named after the Welsh seaside town, this small and exclusive seaside village has only one road in and out, and no shops whatsoever.

The beach is picture-perfect, framed by bushes, trees and giant boulders, and has a good surfable wave. From the rocks you can see the remains of the tanker Romelia, shipwrecked in 1977 after the tow rope snapped and the tug lost control.

A 20-minute walk from Sunset Rocks is the famous nudist beach of Sandy Bay. There is no direct vehicular access, which helps to stop passing oglers, and people generally respect each other's privacy. The only ones getting a good view of this beach are those taking a scenic helicopter ride from the Waterfront.
