The geography of Cape Town
This map of Cape Town shows how the city bowl is hemmed in by Table Mountain, Signal Hill, and the Atlantic Ocean. Keep an eye on Table Mountain as you travel around and you won't need a Cape Town map!
As this Cape Town map shows, the city centre or central business district is really quite small and very managable on foot.
Behind the city centre and creeping up the slopes of Table Mountain are the quiet, up market suburbs of Tamboerskloof, Oranjezicht and Gardens where small guesthouses often have lovely views across the city to Cape Town harbour.
At the top of this Cape Town map is the section of the working harbour known as the V&A Waterfront - where you will find great shopping, great restaurants, great views and exclusive Cape Town accommodation.
As you round Signal Hill on the left of the Cape Town map, the Atlantic Seaboard offers the famous beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay.
